October 3: cold morning!

hailstorm!

 We were grilling our bratwurst for supper, getting ready to go to a baseball game... when the storm hit!  We've never seen hail so big!  We were thankful that our car was finally parked in the garage and that we had no damage!

I'm most often looking down and around, but when I looked UP tonight I was so impressed by the clouds.  And they caused a lot of problems for parts of this city later in the night, apparently it got pretty bad! 

Snow Day

A friend gave me a Buddy Pass so I could fly to MN for just one day, to pick up my cat.  I picked the worst day of the whole month of March, apparently.  But this little chickadee on the snowy background was a fun sight anyway.

though I'm loving all the sunny days with blue skies, i also enjoy the contrasting sight of clouds and bare branches.
